NURS 2110: Care of the Psychiatric Client (5)

This course focuses on the role of the ASN nurse in providing family centered care for mental health clients from childhood through adulthood in both community based and acute care settings. Students will be required to provide effective and competent nursing care for this population applying concepts of : 1) mental health promotion/disease prevention; 2) communication; 3) analytic, contextual and holistic thinking; 4) human caring and relationships; 5) teaching as appropriate 6) resource management; 7) leadership; and 8) information literacy. Co-requisite: BIOL 2280 Pre-requisite: NURS 1110 with a grade of C or better
