Basic conducting technique with conducting exercises and examples from the choral and instrumental music repertoires will be used to enhance the students' understanding of effective conducting gestures and will help lay the foundation for the premise that conducting is a visual art. Emphasis will be given to the application of conducting techniques in a classroom instructional context. Pre-requisite: MUSC 1002
