Master of Education with a Major in Middle Grades Math & Science North Georgia/Georgia ONmyLINE
Georgia ONmyLINE is dedicated to increasing access to public higher education, providing a database of online and distance education programs offered through the 35 accredited institutions within the University System of Georgia. Georgia ONmyLINE is a helpful resource for anyone wanting to begin a degree program online, as well as current students seeking an online course to fit into an on-campus schedule.
The M.Ed. with a Major in Middle Grades Math and Science is an advanced degree designed for certified teachers. The program offers certified teachers the opportunity to add areas of concentration to their teaching certificates in highly sought-after teaching fields. The degree is awarded through the NCATE accredited School of Education at North Georgia College & State University. Top graduate faculty from North Georgia College & State University and Valdosta State University teach the courses as part of the Georgia ONmyLINE initiative. This 12-course, 36-hour program, could be completed in four consecutive semesters with full-time enrollment. Courses are offered on a continuous basis, allowing for part-time enrollment. Coursework, including exams, is completed online. No campus visits are required to complete the program.

Graduate Admissions Procedures
Applicants for the MED with a Major in Middle Grades Math and Science North Georgia/GeorgiaONmyLINE program must complete the North Georgia/GeorgiaONmyLINE application. Applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee.Students who are admitted, but do not enroll by the academic year following the year of acceptance must reapply. Students who were previously enrolled but have not been in attendance within the last three terms must also reapply.
All documents and materials submitted to fulfill the application requirements for entry to a program through North Georgia become the property of the university and will not be returned. These materials are kept for one year for incomplete application files and for three years for individuals who complete an application and are accepted, but do not enroll.
General Eligibility Requirements
- Hold a clear/renewable teaching certificate in any teaching field at the bachelor's level (T-4).
- Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution with at least a 2.50 cumulative grade point average.
Technology Requirements
Students must have high speed internet access and are required to purchase the LiveText portfolio assessment application. Additional software may be required.
