NURS 4410: Nursing in the Community (6)

This course is designed to help the novice, as well as the more experienced community health nurse, meet the every day challenges of nursing in the community. Students will experience the integration of the multidisciplinary approach to caring for individuals, families and communities. Emphasis in both the classroom and clinical setting, is placed on 'what a community health nurse needs to know' to practice effectively in an ever changing health care system. The course will examine contemporary public health problems utilizing tools for practice including the epidemiological process, health promotion and risk reduction strategies, and screening and referral recommendations. Pre-requisites: NURS 3330 and NURS 3110 Co-requisite: NURS 3410
