Student Population

Today, North Georgia's approximate 6,000-member student body is about 42 percent male and 58 percent female. Twenty-eight percent of the students live in campus residence halls, while 72 percent commute from nearby hometowns. Full-time students who have not earned 60 semester hours or not lived four semesters in university housing must live on campus. Students may live off-campus if they live with and commute daily from the permanent legal residence of parents(s), grandparents(s), or legal guardian within as 50-mile radius of Dahlonega; are married or divorced; are 21 years of age or older; have already lived on campus for four semesters; or have completed two years of successful active military service.

North Georgia's excellence is evident in the accomplishments of its students, who regularly post among the highest college admission test scores and maintain one of the highest graduation rates among four-year state universities in the University System of Georgia.
