Academic Advisement Center

Academic advisement is considered to be an essential, integral component of a student's academic journey at North Georgia. Students who have a declared major are assigned to departmental advisors while Open Option majors are assigned to the Advisement Center for advisement. The Open Option major is designed for North Georgia students who are not ready to select a departmental major. Students declaring the Open Option major will be enrolled in core curriculum classes and guided through a structured process of choosing a major by Advisement Center advisors. Students can remain Open Option majors until they have earned a total of 45 credit hours. Academic Advisement Center (AAC) personnel assist students in scheduling appointments with advisors and are available to help with academic concerns, problems, or procedures.
