Library Technology Center
The Library Technology Center offers high quality information, technology, research assistance, and spaces in which to collaborate and study. This 88,600 square foot facility opened in fall 2008 and brings together the faculty, staff, and services of the library, Information Technology, the Writing Center, and the Center of Teaching and Learning Excellence. The library supports and extends learning by providing access to expertise, an extensive print and electronic collection, a wide range of technology hardware and software, and stimulating classes, programs, and workshops. The library's growing collection includes 200,000+ print and electronic books, 60,000+ electronic and 34,000+ print and electronic periodicals, hundreds of databases, and a scholarly and recreational media collection. Using Interlibrary loan and GIL Express, a students can retrieve information resources from anywhere in the world. Off-campus access to the library's electronic collections and services is delivered over the internet, by chat, by text, by e-mail and by phone. The facility provides access to 200+ computer workstations, a wireless network for laptops, printers, scanners, data projector, digital and video recorders and a variety of other high demand technology in a comfortable and highly collaborative learning environment that is open 96+ hours per week and 7 days a week.
