KREN 3001: Intermediate-Advanced Korean I (3)

The course focuses on developing communicative skills in speaking, reading, and listening and writing at the intermediate-advanced level. Students will learn complex sentence constructions and sociolinguistic appropriateness in speech based on various topics such as introduction of a famous person, introduction of family members, playing a quiz, quoting other people¿s saying, reporting special experiences and submitting to an interview. Along with oral and aural practices, the class works on some aspects of grammar to increase the accuracy and complexity of students¿ comprehension and writing. Class sessions are devoted to learning new complex structures, listening comprehension and interactive oral activities to practice those structures in communicative contexts. In addition to the text sources, class sessions utilize different exercises including listening to Korean songs, watching TV programs and video skits. Pre-requisite: KREN 2002 with a grade of D or better
