A conversation-based approach to developing and utilizing basic language patterns and context-specific vocabulary. Much of the speaking is based on common communication situations. Language laboratory assignments. This is a non-sequential course primarily for students whose programs of study require 6 hours or less of a foreign language. Not accepted as a prerequisite for SPAN 2001 or SPAN 2002. Class conducted in Spanish. Pre-requisite: SPAN 1001
