This course is an introduction to the major theories of international political economy. International political economy (IPE) examines the mix between government involvement in the economy and economic influence in governmental affairs. Historically, the role of government involvement has ranged from complete control over the economy, as in centrally planned economies, to mercantilist states where economic interests drive governmental policy. Pre-requisite: POLS 1101 or POLS 1101H
