Weight training is an exercise science program in which various forms of resistance are used for the purpose of increasing strength, endurance, flexibility, skill, and power. This course is designed to teach the student the proper use of various equipment, the muscles being worked, the safety precautions, and the principles of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs. The National Strength and Conditioning Action's (NSCA) guidelines and competencies are emphasized.
