An introduction to the physical, chemical and environmental processes that shape the earth. Topics include: origin and components of the earth, relationship of internal processes (tectonism) to catastrophism, relationship of external processes to surface features, and modern earth resources. The laboratory contains a significant field-trip component highlighting the geology of the northern Georgia region.
