ENGL 2270: Creative Writing (3)

This course will focus on creative writing- poetry, prose, and/or drama- with concern for the relations of form to content, viewpoint, narrative voice, audience, syntax, imagery, and diction. Students will read, analyze, and evaluate a variety of published literature, as reading in the genre is the key to understanding the craft. Workshops of student writing will comprise more than half the course; students will read and critique one another's work as a means of honing critical skill in reading, understanding, and writing creatively. Pre-requisite: ENGL 1102
