Academic Credit

Credits are expressed in terms of semester hours. As a rule, one semester hour is the credit given for the work associated with one hour of class per week throughout one semester. There are exceptions to this rule.

The course numbering system used by North Georgia is such that in general, the first digit of the course corresponds to the level of the class (1-Freshman, 2-Sophomore, 3-Junior, 4-Senior, 5-8-Graduate). Undergraduate students may not enroll in courses numbered 5000-8999.
