Department of History and Philosophy
The Department of History and Philosophy offers programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree in History. In conjunction with the School of Education, the Department of History & Philosophy offers courses leading to teacher licensure at the secondary level in History. The School of Education is responsible for admission and regulation of the Teacher Education Program.
The Department's academic programs prepare students for graduate study and employment. Its educational programs are structured to address community and professional needs.
Graduating majors are required to demonstrate their skills in oral and written communication, analytical precision, and competency in their field. In addition, graduating majors are expected to exhibit the ability to apply the knowledge and skills of their field to everyday situations.
