Credits are expressed in terms of semester hours. One semester hour is the credit given for the work associated with one hour of class per week throughout one semester.

The course numbering systems used by North Georgia is such that in general, the first digit of the course corresponds to the level of the class (1000-4999, Undergraduate, and 5000-8999, Graduate). Students must be admitted as a graduate student in order to take courses numbered 5000-8999.
